Qatari Envoy Mohammed Al-Emadi took part in a ceremony to present local firefighters and rescue workers with a fleet of new vehicles and other equipment in Gaza city on Wednesday.
Al-Emadi oversaw the donation of over 20 vehicles, and at the ceremony stated: «we hope that by delivering these vehicles and equipment to the civil defense, it will contribute to improving the quality of service... Еще provided to Palestinian citizens, and to enhancing the capabilities of the agency and enabling it to provide faster and better services to the Gaza Strip.»
«The State of Qatar has been and remains the forerunner in extending a helping hand to the people of the Gaza Strip by supporting all vital and important sectors in various types and ways of aid,» he added.
Israeli authorities permitted the shipment to take places, which was the first time since 2007, reports say. Gaza's civil defense reportedly only had just 33 vehicles to serve a population of around 2 million people.
