State of Palestine: Mourners bid farewell to farmer reportedly killed by Israeli fire in Gaza

Mourners bid farewell to a Palestinian farmer who was reportedly killed by Israeli tank fire near Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip on Friday. The Palestinian Health Ministry has identified the victim as Omar Sammour. Sammour was reportedly working on his land when the alleged attack took place. According to media reports, scores of others were also injured by Israeli forces east of Khan... Еще Yunis and Gaza City on Friday. The attack comes ahead of the annual Palestinian Land Day, commemorating the events of that date in 1976. On March 30, 1976, six Palestinians were killed as they were demonstrating against the Israeli government's expropriation of Palestinian land. Demonstrators are expected to rally as part of a six-week protest leading up to the inauguration of the new US embassy in Jerusalem on May 14, following US President Donald Trump's decision to recognise Jerusalem as Israel's capital last December. The protest is set to call for the 'right of return' of Palestinian refugees to what is now considered Israel.
