Hundreds of protesters rallied in Ramallah on Friday against Israeli plans to annex parts of the occupied West Bank and US President Donald Trump's 'Deal of the Century.'
Some demonstrators set tires on fire and threw objects at Israeli security forces who responded with tear gas.
«What we are witnessing now is just the beginning of the resistance which will be led by the Palestinian youth,» said the Democratic Front official Ramzi Rabah.
«The confrontation should be direct against the occupation,' said political activist Omar Assaf, who believes the Palestinian strategy should shift from negotiating to open resistance.
The rally comes as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's cabinet has been discussing plans to annex parts of the occupied West Bank and the Jordan Valley.
