Hundreds of Orthodox Christians amassed at the Church of Nativity in Bethlehem on Sunday, to partake in the Christmas Midnight Mass.
People from all across the world gathered at Manger Square to celebrate the Orthodox Christmas that according to the Julian calendar falls on January 7.

While much of Europe changed to the Gregorian calendar in 1752, Orthodox communities still follow the 'Old Christmas Day' of the Julian calendar.
