Hundreds of people took to the streets with Palestinian flags in Khan al-Ahmar in the West Bank on Wednesday, demonstrating against Israel's plans to demolish the Palestinian Bedouin village. The Israeli Supreme Court, on the same day, held a session to discuss the petition issued by the protesters. The Supreme Court judges decided to postpone the sentence of the petition and gave the defense... Еще staff of the Khan al-Ahmar and the Public Prosecutor's Office five days to submit written claims on the petition. Head of the resistance committee Walid Assaf said «it's crime to destroy the Khan Al-Ahmar. We are ready to defend our existence and survival and will not accept to be refugees again.» The Israeli Supreme Court approved the request to demolish the village in May, claiming that Khan al-Ahmar was built illegally without an Israeli permit and that the residents should relocate to the nearby village Al-Jabel. However, this month the Israeli Supreme Court has issued a temporary injunction to block the demolition and has agreed to hold another hearing in August. The demolitions are to remain on hold until then.
