Sri Lanka: Muslim govt. members resign sparking protests in Kandy

Thousands of protesters took the central city of Kandy on Monday following the resignation of several Muslim members of the government over the perceived failure to act in the wake of the Easter Sunday bombings. Еще Athuraliye Ratana insisted governors of two provinces and a cabinet minister be sacked over their alleged involvement with the militants responsible for the bombings. Six blasts took place in the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo while two further explosions occurred in the western city of Negombo and the eastern city of Batticaloa.
