Spain: 'We want a vote!' Catalan protesters rally in Barcelona following arrest of officials

Thousands of Catalan protesters demanded a vote on independence, Wednesday, outside the Ministry of Economy in Barcelona. Among the protests were chants of «we want a vote», and several banners reading «Democracy!». Left party Podem Catalonia spokesperson Albano Dante-Fachín rallied supporters for their ongoing presence, asking for more than just their participation in the upcoming Catalonian... Еще referendum. Speaking about the 13 arrested Catalan goverment officials, Dante-Fachin said «when actions like this are being carried out to directly prevent people from expressing themselves on October 1, the call for participation also means being here when the Catalan institutions are being intervened by an armed body [of Spanish forces].»
