Spain: Vehicle used in Cambrils car attack towed from site

The vehicle used in the car attack early on Friday morning in the coastal town of Cambrils was removed from the scene by police later in the day while police collected evidence. Five attackers reportedly drove an Audi A3 into a group of pedestrians, injuring seven, only hours after a similar attack rocked Barcelona. The suspected assailants, who were shot dead by police officers, are alleged to... Еще have been wearing fake explosive belts at the time according to local authorities. On Thursday, a white Fiat van was running off the road along La Rambla and into pedestrians outside the Placa de Catalunya metro station in Barcelona, leaving 14 dead and injuring a further 100 people. The attacks have been claimed by the so-called Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS, ISIL). Police are now linking the two incidents with an explosion that took place early on Thursday morning in the town of Alcanar Platja. It was initially believed to be a gas cylinder explosion, but is now reportedly connected to the assemblage of a bomb by the militant group that carried out Thursday’s and Friday’s attacks.
