Three Civil Guard officers were injured in an attempt to contain a stampede at the Tarajal border crossing between the Spanish enclave of Ceuta and Morocco, Friday.
Around 400 porters were transporting goods when they tried to force through the crossing to avoid customs checks from Spanish officials. The porters threw rocks and charged at police armed in riot gear.
In the commotion, a... Еще motorcycle attempting to break through the police line ran over three Civil Guard officers. They reportedly suffered minor injuries and were later taken to hospital.
Spanish law enforcement did manage to bring the situation under control, but the porters were unable to use the crossing through the night.
Ceuta is a Spanish enclave in northern Morocco and is seen as an important trading post between the two countries.
