Members of the National Association of Victims and People Affected by Coronavirus (ANVAC) placed thousands of Spanish flags in the gardens of Madrid's Parque de Roma on Sunday.
The flags could be seen pinned up in the garden, as residents came to see them.
According to ANVAC, 53,000 flags have been placed, one for each death due to the pandemic in Spain. This is a much higher figure than the official one provided by the Ministry of Health, of 31,232 linked deaths and 716,481 cases registered to date.
The organisation also called for a rally on October 1 in front of 20 government delegations and sub-delegations throughout Spain, to demand «justice» and «memory» for the victims of COVID-19.
