Spain: 'There will be no referendum' — Rajoy bullish on Catalan independence

Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy stated that he won't allow the Catalan independence referendum, speaking to Popular Party members in Barcelona, Friday. He also congratulated police guards, who have seized about 100,000 «propaganda posters» dedicated to the independence referendum. Rajoy called the decision of the Catalan government to support the referendum as «an attempt «to liquidate all... Еще the laws, constitution and autonomy statute included, replace them with a legality that has been invented and also do so by clearly undemocratic procedures». «I say it with the same serenity that firmness, there will be no referendum, there will not be one,» underlined Spanish Prime Minister. President of the Generalitat of Catalonia Carles Puigdemont signed a decree officially calling for Catalonia's «self-determination referendum», to be held October 1. Spain's constitutional court ruled to suspend the referendum law the following day.
