The Spanish National Court allowed Tamara Carrasco, the activist accused of coordinating road blocks and opening tolls over Easter, to walk free in Madrid on Thursday. Carrasco was arrested on suspicion of sedition, terrorism and rebellion. The court ruled out these crimes, however, a charge of public disorder still stands. She is member of the Committee for the Defence of the Republic (CDR... Еще), one of the various groups that rally against Madrid for its intervention in Catalonia. After the arrest of former Catalan president Carles Puidgemont, the CDR coordinated a series of protests throughout the Easter period. Activists blocked several major highways and forced toll gates to open, letting drivers through for free.
