Uruguayan footballer Luis Suarez bid a tearful farewell to FC Barcelona on Thursday at an event at Camp Nou.
Suarez leaves Barca after six years as a player after having become the third top scorer in the club's history.
«A stage is coming to an end and I have to be very proud of what I did. For taking me friends, because they are many years and I take friends, that leaves me happy too; to say goodbye to the people of the club yesterday and to see that it was going away apart from a player, from as many people see, a human being who has feelings,» declared the player visibly moved.
Juarez said that he leaves Barca with positive memories: «I am going to stay with all the beautiful things that I lived here in Barcelona with spectacular moments. That my children saw me lift trophies, that they saw me score goals, that they saw me play alongside incredible, wonderful players, that they saw me play alongside the best in history.»
At the emotional farewell, Juarez was accompanied by his family and club directors. Some of his teammates also attended, such as Lionel Messi, Jordi Alba, Gerard Pique, Sergi Roberto, and Sergio Busquets, who accompanied him to the Camp Nou field to take a photo with all the trophies obtained during his time at the club, where the Champions League and the four Leagues stand out.
Suarez leaves Barca to join Simeone's Atletico de Madrid team.
