Spain: Scuffles break out as Spain removes artwork from Lleida museum

Scuffles broke out between hundreds of protesters and police during a demonstration against the removal of Sijena's artwork from the Catalan Museum of Lleida in Lleida, Monday. Catalan separatists attempted to stop police from moving the disputed artworks from the city museum. Culture Minister Inigo Mendez de Vigo filed a petition by a judge from Aragon requesting the 44 artworks from the Monastery of Sijena be returned, under allegations of an illegal 1980's sale contract between Sijena and Catalonia.
