Spain: Residents of Madrid's San Blas district protest 'neo-Nazi attacks'

Hundreds of anti-fascist and left-wing activists gathered in the San Blas-Canillejas district of Madrid to demonstrate against what they called «neo-Nazi attacks,» Friday. Demonstrators were seen chanting anti-racism slogans while holding banners against Nazi and neo-Nazi groups, with police seen watching the protest. Members of far-right groups in turn walked in the streets of the district on Wednesday demanding the expulsion of a group of Unaccompanied Foreign Minors (MENA) who are staying in a residence hall in the district, which is supervised by the Community of Madrid. «Neo-Nazi groups attack and exercise violence against minors, it happens here and in all other neighbourhoods of Madrid and Spain,» said one of the demonstrators. The tensions in the neighbourhood raised after a Tuesday fight between two young neo-Nazis and four minors who live in the MENA centre, according to police quoted in media.
