Spain: 'Puigdemont does not know where he is or where he is going' — Spanish Deputy PM

The Spanish Deputy Prime Minister Soraya Saenz de Santamaria told a press conference in Madrid on Tuesday that Catalan President Carles Puigdemont had worsened the political situation in Catalonia following his address on independence. «After having gone so far and having loaded Catalonia in the greatest level of tension in its history, President Puigdemont has plunged its autonomous community... Еще in the greater level of uncertainty. The speech that the president of Catalonia has made today is the speech of a person who does not know where he is, where he is going and with whom he wants to go,» Saenz said. Saenz also reiterated that the October 1 independence vote was deemed invalid by Spanish law. In his address the Catalan leader suspended a declaration of independence from Spain in order to first seek a negotiated solution with the central government.
