Spain: National Police and Guardia Civil demand equal pay as other Catalan law enforcement bodies

About 35,000 officers of National Police and the Guardia Civil took to the streets of Barcelona on Saturday, in protests demanding the same wage as other police officers in the region. Among the demonstrators were the leader of the 'Citizens' party Albert Rivera, party spokesperson Ines Arrimadas, leader of People's Party Xavier Garcia Albiol, president of JUSAPOL [National Police Officers and... Еще Guardia Civil] foundation Natan Espinosa and other politicians. The protest comes as reports reveal that salary alignment between National Police and Guardia Civil and other officers as Mossos E'scuadra [police force of Catalonia] would cost additional €1,500 ($1833) million in the next three years.
