Hundreds of people took to the streets of central Barcelona, on Monday night, calling for the release of four jailed pro-independence Catalan separatists, following the decision of a judge of the Supreme Court to refuse bail for all of them. Gathered in Saint James's Square, demonstrators dressed in yellow «Yes» banners held signs reading «Freedom for political prisoners» and sang chants in... Еще unison to support their jailed fellow Catalans. The four to remain in prison without bail are former regional Vice President Oriol Junqueras, Councilor Joaquim Fort, and pro-independence activists Jordi Sanchez and Jordi Cuixart. Catalan politicians Raul Romeva, Carles Mundo, Josep Rull and Jordi Turull were released from the the Estremera prison in Madrid earlier on Monday, after paying a EUR 100,000 (USD 118,000) bail each. Two other Catalan leaders were released earlier from a women's jail in Alcala Meco. The six former Catalan cabinet ministers are still under investigation for sedition against the Spanish state. All six leaders are reportedly travelling to Catalonia to partake in political events ahead of the upcoming elections on December.
