Spain: Funeral workers on site at Leganes morgue as country's COVID-19 death toll exceeds daily record

Funeral workers in protective suits removed a body from a morgue in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, at the Severo Ochoa Hospital in Leganes on Sunday, as Spain’s daily death toll reached a record high. The Spanish Ministry of Health reported on Sunday that in the last 24 hours, 838 new COVID-19-related deaths have been recorded, bringing the total number of fatalities in Spain to 6,528. A total of 78,797 people in the country are infected with coronavirus. The most-affected region continues to be the Community of Madrid, with 22,677 positive cases, followed by Catalonia (15,026), the Basque Country (5,740) and Castile and Leon (5,414). 
Spain has the fourth-highest recorded cases of coronavirus in the world.
