Former Spanish interior minister Martin Villa arrived at the Argentine embassy in Madrid on Thursday to testify before Argentine judge Maria Servini de Cubria by video link. The judge is investigating the politician's alleged connection to a series of crimes committed during the governments of Carlos Arias Navarro and Adolfo Suarez.
A car in which Villa was allegedly being transported was seen entering the embassy territory. Outside the building, a group of demonstrators was demanding justice for the victims of political repressions in Spain.
A group of counter-demonstrators also arrived at the site to reject the action of the Argentinean judge.
Servini de Cubria is investigating a series of crimes against humanity that occurred during the Franco regime and the Spanish transition. According to local media reports, Villa has denied any links to the events.
