The judge is investigating the politician's alleged connection to a series of crimes committed during the governments of Carlos Arias Navarro and Adolfo Suarez. A car in which Villa was allegedly being transported was seen entering the embassy territory. Outside the building, a group of demonstrators was demanding justice for the victims of political repressions in Spain. A group of counter-demonstrators also arrived at the site to reject the action of the Argentinean judge.
