Spain: Citizens’ favourite Arrimadas urges Catalans future’s orange

Election favourite Ines Arrimadas who is the voice of the liberal Citizens Party told Catalans on Tuesday that December 21 “will be the expiry date of the independence process” during a speech marking the end of the election campaign in Barcelona. Arrimadas encouraged everyone to vote for the “orange party” saying “we are going to vote so hard on Thursday that Puigdemont will listen to us from... Еще Brussels.” She said there are only two options when voting on Thursday: “Either extending the process in a broken and divided Catalonia or starting a new period for all Catalans.” “I tell you that voting orange is a certain vote to stop the process and to start a new political period in Catalonia, with forces that defend that Catalans want to continue being Catalan, Spanish and European,” claimed the pro-unity leader. On December 21, Catalans will vote for 135 lawmakers in the regional parliament which has been dominated by pro-independence parties since 2015. The elections are expected to determine the course of a secession crisis that escalated after the October 1 Catalan independence referendum.
