Mayor of Barcelona Ada Colau and President of Catalonia Carles Puigdemont remained adamant that the Catalan capital would continue to be an «open city» at a press conference in Barcelona, Thursday.
Colau, on the verge of tears, said that Barcelona stood for the values of openness and solidarity, and that it was united against violence and brutality.
She also confirmed that there would be... Еще minute's silence on Friday.
Puigdemont drew parallels with the terror attacks on Paris, Brussels and London, while also announcing that an investigation had been opened.
The press conference was called in the wake of a suspected terror attack in Barcelona's city centre, where a van drove through crowds in a popular tourist hotspot, killing at least one person and injuring at least thirty others.
