Spain: Catalan leaders lack 'courage to be loyal to their people' — Socialist leader Sanchez

Leader of the Spanish Socialist Workers' party Pedro Sanchez spoke out against the Catalan government's unilateral declaration of independence on Friday in Madrid, calling it an «absolute irresponsibility» and a «nonsensical race» to independence. Sanchez slammed the Catalan government for not caring for «the welfare of each and every Catalan citizen.» The Socialist leader added «Spain does... Еще not come out without Catalonia, nor Catalonia without Spain. So Catalonia will always be Spain.» Spain's Senate on Friday approved measures that allowed the central government to impose direct rule on Catalonia following the regional parliament's vote for independence.
