Spain: Barcelona protests as Catalan leaders mark 100 days behind bars

Hundreds of people rallied in front of the Spanish government delegation in Barcelona on Wednesday to demand the freedom of pro-independence leaders Jordi Sanchez and Jordi Cuixart, as they marked 100 days in prison. Protesters chanted “Freedom for political prisoners”, “October 1, no forgiveness, no pardon” and “the streets will always be ours.» Former President of Catalan National Assembly... Еще (ANC) Jordi Sanchez and the former President of Omnium Cultural Jordi Cuixart were sent to jail on October 16 by a High Court judge. The investigation into the pair stems from a September 20 protest in which a massive crowd blocked Spanish Civil Guard officers inside a government building in Barcelona. A judge ruled the two must remain in prison without bail.
