Barcelona city council started to distribute ballot boxes to polling stations across the Catalan capital on Monday, ahead of the forthcoming regional elections on December 21. Images show election officers preparing voting slips and ballot boxes at a warehouse run by the local government in Barcelona. The election material was later delivered to Escola Industrial polytechnic. Head of the... Еще warehouse Emili Vinya was leading the operation. In an interview, he said, «[we started] when we received the order from the electoral commission to start distributing election materials into schools. I guess we will finish with that tomorrow or so.» Barcelona will have a total of 264 polling stations. Voting will commence at 9am and finish at 8pm. The Spanish government called for fresh elections in Catalonia after voting to trigger Article 155 of the constitution, thus dissolving the Catalan parliament and bringing the region under direct rule. That move followed Catalonia's unilateral declaration of independence from Spain.
