Spain: 40 religious and non-religious communities commemorate Barcelona and Cambrils victims

An interreligious ceremony took place at the Maratime Museum of Barcelona, Thursday, to commemorate the victims of the recent Barcelona and Cambrils terrorist attacks. The ceremony was headed by President of the Generalitat of Catalonia Carles Puigdemont and Mayor of Barcelona Ada Colau. The Barcelona City Council cited the event as an oppurtunity to remember all the victims, «from very... Еще different countries, beliefs and traditions.» 40 communities of religious and non-religious convictions attended the ceremony, including; Orthodox Christian communities, Catholic Christian community, Evangelical Christian communities, Muslim communities, Secular tradition, Atheist tradition, Buddhist communities, Taoist communities, Sikh communities, Baha'i communities, Christian witnesses of Jehovah, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons) and Hindu communities. The ceremony opened with music played by the Arab Orchestra of Barcelona. Extracts from the Bible, the Quran, the Torah and Buddhist scrolls were also read. The ceremony concluded with an offering of flowers which was taken to Las Ramblas.
