A total of 189 migrants, including 29 women and eight children, arrived at the Port of Malaga on the Guardamar Caliope ship on Sunday, after being rescued in the Sea of Alboran.
The Spanish Red Cross activated its emergency teams to attend to those on the ship, providing them with food and a change of clothes, as well as a first aid check-up.
Spanish Red Cross co-ordinator Samuel Linares... Еще explained: «They arrived in good physical conditions but there was one of them who needed medical care in hospital. We have made a first sanitary triage, a first health check to every one. They can shower, can freshen up, and can change their clothes. Those who have some kind of disease are treated. They are offered a restorative meal and then they go under protection of the police.»
