A website called urnesdelreferendum.cat has been producing mini replicas of ballot boxes used during the independence referendum of October 1. Ruptly went to see how sales were doing at their Christmas market stall on the Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes in Barcelona on Friday. One shopper said the mini ballot boxes were «perfect». She added, «it is a gift to remember October 1 and anyone can... Еще get it.» The ballot boxes are manufactured in Catalonia and retail at €9.95 ($11.98). Business is brisk, with the company reporting sales of 150,000 units. At the Christmas market stall, 30% of all proceeds go to the Associacio Catalana de Drets Civils (Catalan Association for Civil Rights) to help families of — what they term — 'political prisoners'. The independence referendum threw open a Pandora's box for Catalonia. However, unlike in the Greek myth, separatists are refusing to abandon hope.
