South Korea: Cross-country skiing champ Harvey talks Russia in Pyeongchang

Canadian cross-country skier Alex Harvey commented on the absence of the Russian skiers at the Olympic Games, while speaking at a national team press conference in Pyeongchang on Tuesday. According to Harvey, the International Olympic Committee «took the strongest measures, CAS [Court of Arbitration for Sport] told them they maybe a bit too strong of a measure.» «It has affected our sport... Еще but that's the beauty of cross-country skiing that even people who cheat, it is still possible to beat them,» said Harvey as he explained cross-country skiing was not only about athletes' physical capabilities, but also technique and equipment. He compared the cross-country courses in Sochi to Pyeongchang, saying that the course in the upcoming Olympic Games was «fair» compared to the previous event, where a 2km (1.24mi) climb meant more durable athletes stood at an advantage.
