South Korea: Cool Runnings! — Ghana's first skeleton athlete arrives in S.Korea

Akwasi Frimpong, Ghana's first Olympic skeleton athlete arrived in Incheon airport on Saturday, ahead of the 2018 PyeongChang Winter games. Being a Dutch-Ghanaian dual citizen, Frimpong had previously contended in various racing championships and earned the nickname 'GoldenSprint' under the Netherlands flag before switching to skeleton for Ghana after failing to qualify for the Olympics in the... Frimpong detailed his path to Pyeongchang saying, «In 2008, I got a scholarship to go to Utah, that's where I actually discovered more about sports,» adding that after track and field, he gave skeleton a try and now «Here I am.» He was greeted by a fellow athlete and later accompanied by volunteers as he boarded a shuttle heading for Pyeongchang. Frimpong was the inspiration for the documentary 'The Rabbit Theory' which detailed his life journey from a toddler living with nine siblings in one room in Ghana to an immigrant fighting to obtain legal residence in Netherlands.
