South Korea: British IOC member sent home after altercation with security guard

IOC spokesman Mark Adams answered questions with regards to the altercation British IOC member Adam Pengilly had with a volunteer security guard in Daegwalnyeong-myeon on Thursday. The altercation occurred early Thursday morning when Pengilly was leaving his hotel. According to reports, the security guard attempted to redirect Pengilly to the pedestrian walkway, and then asked to see his... Еще accreditation. After approximately 30 seconds of dispute, Pengilly claims he ran past him and it is disputed whether he pushed the guard or not. Adams explained that Pengilly had already «written a letter of apology to the security guard» and that the IOC «President himself has asked to meet the security guard and meet the authorities to apologise in person for the activity.» Pengilly was sent home from South Korea later that day. Adam Pengilly is a former Skeleton Olympian who represented Great Britain in the 2006 and 2010 Winter Olympics.
