South Africa: CPUT on lockdown as violence breaks out between students and private security

Students clashed with privately hired security personnel at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) on Monday, as they protested over the suspension of four students and the employee contracts of insourced workers. Police used rubber bullets and stun grenades to disperse some 100 protesters on Cape Town campus. According to the university, the protesters set fire to several classrooms... Еще.
