Tens of thousands of people gathered in the Slovak capital of Bratislava on Friday to demand the incumbent government step aside, following the murder of investigative journalist Jan Kuciak and his fiancee Martina Kusnirova. Protesters massed on a central square in Bratislava with banners reading ‘Down with Fico’ and ‘With their blood’, as they displayed prints of Slovakian Prime Minister... Еще Robert Fico and Interior Minister Robert Kalinak. Demonstrators are demanding a fully-fledged police investigation into the murders as well as the replacement of top politicians with a new government. The Slovakian protests were supported by demonstrations both across the country and worldwide. Kuciak and Kusnirova were found shot dead on February 25. Kuciak had been investigating relationships between the Italian mafia and people working in Fico’s office. Slovaks are saying the government has failed to tackle corruption previously and now demand a serious government reconstruction.
