The Russian national ice hockey team trained in Bratislava on Friday in preparation for their fifth IIHF World Championship game against Latvia.
The practice session comes after a day off following their 10-0 win over Italy. «I wish we had more days off. The tournament is difficult and there are many matches, that's why I think such days when you don't come on the ice and mentally rest, are... Еще necessary,» said Evgeni Kuznetsov, a Russia forward, after the training.
Saturday's game against Russia will be Latvia's last chance to qualify for the play offs. When asked if he expects a fierce match, Russia's head coach Ilya Vorobyov said: «well, we read about it in an interview yesterday. Yesterday's match [Latvia against the Czech Republic] was already fierce as if it was the last one.»
Russia is leading Group B with 12 points after four straight victories.
