Towns and cities across central and northern India have been reporting their highest temperatures of the year as they've experienced a heatwave for the past week, reaching 42°C (108°F) in Delhi on Friday.
Footage shows Delhiites coping with the high temperatures by drinking large amounts of cold water, staying in the shade and swimming.
«I couldn't manage this weather and will leave to Rajasthan... Еще by this evening,» said Siyaram Sakku, a tourist.
Temperatures in the worst affected areas reached 50°C (122°F), such as the city of Churu, between June 1 and 3.
Widespread high temperatures of 42-47°C (108-116°F) are expected to persist across northern India through at least the coming week.
