Serbia: Thousands take part in anti-govt sit-in in front of parliament in Belgrade

Thousands of people gathered in front of the Serbian National Assembly building in Belgrade on Thursday, for the third day in a row in a protest against Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, which was earlier triggered by his announcement of new coronavirus restrictions, later partly scrapped due to the protests. Protesters expressed their discontent with the current political situation in the country, holding placards reading «stop the dictatorship,» «the police stick hurts, but treason leaves deeper wounds» and «stop the violence.» The sit-it was generally peaceful, with minor scuffles seen between the demonstrators and the rival protest group.
