Saudi Arabia: Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca continues with COVID restrictions

The Hajj pilgrimage continued in the Muslim holy city of Mecca on Thursday, amid COVID-19 restrictions. Worshippers were seen sitting and praying inside one of the holy city's mosques, while wearing obligatory face masks. This year, the world's biggest gathering of Muslims has been limited to fewer than 10,000 people, compared to the more than two million that usually take part in the pilgrimage. Saudi Arabia has more than 273,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus and 2,816 deaths with the disease, according to Johns Hopkins University.
