Russia: «You look taller on TV» — kids dazzle Putin at Kremlin New Year’s event

Еще Vladimir Putin took part in an annual children’s New Year celebration at the Kremlin, in Moscow on Tuesday. One of the children surprised Putin by saying that the president «looks taller on TV.» «Well, that’s okay,» Putin noted. Chatting with children, Putin revealed his stance on the Russian opposition, which he said was «positive.» The Russian President also exclaimed that that «it is amazing in Yamal» and that his favourite city is St Petersburg, as well as promising to cross the Crimean bridge by car, among other things. About 5,000 pupils across Russia participated in the annual celebration which dates back to the Soviet times, when only a selected few were able to bring their children to the Kremlin holiday party. The festivity traditionally hosts events for children with activities including singing, dancing, light shows, games and contests, among other things.
