Russia: Yanukovych asked Putin to send 'peacekeeping' mission to Ukraine

Former Ukrainian president Victor Yanukovych revealed that he wrote to Russian President Vladimir Putin requesting a peacekeeping mission be sent to Ukraine at the time of the Maidan revolution in 2014, at a press conference in Moscow on Friday. Yanukovych blamed Germany, Poland and France for allowing 'the state armed coup to happen' in Ukraine, referring to the countries' role as the three... Еще state-guarantors of the peace agreement between the Ukrainian opposition forces. «If they had not recognised it [the alleged coup], had returned to this issue, to the negotiations and so on, the war would not have broken out,» the ex-president said. Talking about the Donbass reintegration decree recently signed into law by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, Yanukovych said that it «completely rules out the implementation of the Minsk agreements.»
