Russia: ‘We don’t have aggressive plans’ — Putin visits Vostok-2018 drills

Russian President Vladimir Putin attended a military parade at the Vostok-2018 drills in Trans-Baikal Region on Thursday. At his address to the troops, the president said that «Russia is a peace-loving state. We do not and cannot have aggressive plans. Our foreign policy is aimed at creative cooperation with all countries which are interested in it.» He also mentioned that Russia will... Еще continue to develop and strengthen its armed forces in order to «be ready to defend sovereignty, security and national interests of our country.» The drills are being held from 11 to 17 September, in the Far East of Russia. Around 300,000 troops, 1,000 aircraft, 36,000 armoured vehicles, and 80 vessels are to take part in the war games, according to the Ministry of Defence. They will be joined by around 3,500 personnel from the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA).
