Russia: Villages evacuated as Yakutia’s Lena River bursts banks

Numerous villages in Yakutia have been evacuated as meltwater has caused the Lena River to overflow, as shown in aerial footage shot on Monday. A state of emergency has been announced by the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) in four districts in the region, namely Ust-Maysky, Amginsky, Tattinsky and Churapchinsky.
