Russia: US restrictions on Russian media «contradict norms of journalism» — Lavrov

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov discussed topics ranging from North Korea's nuclear programme and the Syrian crisis to the US pressure on Russia media organisations, in an exclusive RT interview in Moscow on Monday. Discussing North Korea and the tension surrounding the Korean Peninsula, Russia's top diplomat said he doesn't think «that someone in their right mind would want war» on the... Еще Korean peninsula. Lavrov accused the US of provoking a reaction from Pyongyang by organising «unprecedented» US-Japanese drills in the region in November. On Syria, the Russian diplomat said that reports about US training militants in its Syrian bases is «concerning.» As for the latest set of restrictions imposed on Russian media outlets in the US, Lavrov said, «RT is the one of those who suffered the most from the policy of the US,» adding that these restrictions «completely contradict the principles and norms of journalism, freedom of work and freedom of opinion expression.»
