Russia: US «bears a special responsibility» for Ukrainian leadership’s actions — Lavrov

Speaking at a joint press conference with his Mauritanian counterpart Isselkou Ould in Moscow, Tuesday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Ukraine has failed to curb «ultra-radicals» and «neo-Nazis» who he said «staged a coup d'etat» in 2014 and «feel quite comfortable in today's Ukraine.» «It will hardly surprise anyone that the United States bears a special responsibility for the... Еще Kiev authorities' behavior since Washington has been in fact manually controlling them,» Lavrov stated. Lavrov also refuted reports that the Sochi peace talks on Syria, dubbed 'The Congress of National Dialogue', had been postponed, noting that the preparations «are underway» and that the specific date of the congress is yet to be announced. Earlier in the week, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan's spokesperson, Ibrahim Kalin, was reported to have said that the Sochi congress on Syria had been postponed and that the Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD) would not be invited, following Turkey's objection. Lavrov went on to say that «we are presently working out a number of concrete issues on the agenda, dates, some organisational matters and other parameters of the congress» and that the work is done «together with our partners, primarily Turkey and Iran, which together with Russia are guarantors of the Astana process.»
