Russia: ‘Unquestionable progress in Syrian situation’- Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani, following the trilateral talks of the two leaders with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan concerning the Syrian conflict's peaceful settlement, in Sochi, on Wednesday. The Russian President started the talks by stressing that the comprehensive Russian-Iranian cooperation touches almost «all areas... Еще which are of common interest.» At the bilateral meeting, the Putin and Rouhani confirmed their commitment to fostering the Syrian crisis' resolution. The Russian leader noted that to date the Syrian government and its allies have made «unquestionable progress in the settlement of the Syrian situation.» The Iranian President endorsed the forthcoming all-Syrian national congress, which is due to be held in Sochi, saying that it «is a crucial step» in bringing peace to Syria. Previously, at the trilateral meeting in Sochi, Putin, Rouhani and Erdogan backed the idea of holding an all-Syrian national congress, which will bring together all those parties involved in the Syrian conflict — terrorists excluded.
