Russia: Ukraine is 'sabotaging' peacekeeping resolution discussion — Lavrov

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that Ukraine is «sabotaging the discussion of the resolution on peacekeepers proposed by Russia in the Donbass» during a press conference with his Belarusian counterpart Vladimir Makei in Moscow on Wednesday. The Russian foreign minister went on to claim that Ukraine seeks to «sabotage» Russia’s peacekeeping resolution because it «does not want to... Еще ensure the safety of the observers who monitor the Minsk agreements compliance but wants to bring in occupation forces, cut all contacts of Donbass with the outside world and then establish their own rules there, completely ignoring the Minsk accords.» Makei also highlighted that Belarus «is ready to allocate the appropriate peacekeeping contingent, if this is acceptable by all the interested parties, in order to participate in solving peacekeeping tasks.» The Belarusian Minister then added that «it is important to finally get away from the confrontational rhetoric that exists today.» In turn, Lavrov thanked his counterpart for his readiness to stand against Russophobia in the region.
