Russia: Three alleged IS recruiters killed, one arrested during operation in Dagestan

Three alleged so-called Islamic State (IS; formerly ISIS/ISIL) supporters were killed by security forces and one person arrested in Dagestan allegedly confessed that he had ties with so-called IS recruiters in video footage released by the Russian National Anti-terrorism Committee on Saturday. In response to the police request to stop the car, to ground arms and to surrender to the authorities, the bandits brought their guns into action,» commented the Russian National Anti-terrorism Committee spokesperson. Two rifles and one pistol along with ammunition were found in the car. One person was arrested. According to the Russian National Anti-terrorism Committee, he confessed that his alleged allies had ties with the IS. «[inaudible] swore to ISIS. He offered me to swear to IS. But I refused to.» said the detainee, who was arraigned on a criminal charge before. The Russian National Anti-terrorism Committee is continuing the investigation.
