Russia: Thinking outside the box — Yekaterinburg Arena adds extention ahead of WC2018

A construction team has come up with an ingenious solution for the Yekaterinburg Arena ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, Monday. Footage shows two temporary stands, at either end of the ground, erected outside the stadium which sees architects increasing its capacity to 35,000 spectators without changing the roof, which is protected under Russian law. This novel solution has been met with... Еще approval by FIFA, despite raising eyebrows worldwide. Yekaterinburg is home to over a million people, which makes it the fourth largest city in Russia. Next year, the ‘window to Asia’, will host four group stage matches and thousands of football supporters. Excitement is growing ahead of the World Cup draw at the Kremlin, Moscow, on December 1.
