The State Duma, the lower house of the Russian Parliament, unanimously adopted an amended draft law 'on measures to counter the unfriendly actions of the United States of America or other foreign states', in Moscow on Tuesday. Presenting the draft law and amendment to MPs, State Duma Vice-Speaker of the Russian State Duma AndreI Isaev said, «two draft laws have been brought to your attention... Еще. One of which is a response to US sanctions, the second establishes criminal liability for those who support and comply with these sanctions on our territory, within the jurisdiction of Russia.» «We do not seek war, an economical war or a war of sanctions. It was imposed upon us. But everybody should understand that every blow dealt to the interests of our motherland, the rights and freedom of our citizens will be met with our retaliation. This is the point of the draft law,» Isaev said. A fresh round of US sanctions announced in March, targeted Russian individuals and entities for alleged meddling in the 2016 presidential election election and alleged cyber-attacks.
