Russia: Sailors rescued from Crimea ship blaze dock in Kerch harbour

Twelve sailors rescued from two burning ships in the Kerch Strait near Crimea were safely delivered to to Kerch hospital on Monday. The crew members do not face life-threatening injuries, according to acting head of Kerch's emergency ward Vladimir Sidelnikov. A total of fourteen were rescued, ten were found dead at sea and a further ten remain missing, with rescue operations still underway... Еще. The Federal Agency for the Sea and River Transport said the blaze erupted when fuel was being pumped from one vessel to another. Both cargo ships — Maestro and Candy (Venice) — were sailing under a Tanzanian flag, and had a combined crew crew of 31, 16 were Turkish citizens and 15 from India. The Russian Investigative committee has opened a case into the incident.
