Russia: Rally in St. Petersburg in support of Myanmar's Rohingya Muslims results in detentions

Dozens of protesters were reportedly detained in St. Petersburg, Sunday, after an unsanctioned rally in support of Myanmar's Rohingya Muslims. Initially, the city administration offered the opportunity to discuss the issue in a round table format instead of holding a rally. According to reports, around 200 people still took part in the protest. Those detained were allegedly charged with... Еще being in violation of the established procedure for holding rallies, as well as disobedience to the lawful request of police officers. Police have not released information concerning the number of people detained. Protests have taken place across the globe over Myanmar's recent military action against Rohingyas in Rakhine state after a reported attack by militants left 12 police officers dead.
